Amazing Arms & Hands Class

Bellydance - Amazing Arms/Hands & Torso Technique

This class has turned out to be one of BellyUp's most popular technique classes to attend and we're excited that so many of our students are taking advantage of this great specialty class offering.  Arms & Hands always seem to be the last thing belly dancers think about when there are so many other things to remember. Because no matter how good your hip work is, no matter how ooey gooey your undulations are, no matter how loose and fabulous your shimmy is,  your arms, hands and posture can make or break your stage presence ..  big time. Learning how to perfect your arm and hand technique is paramount to your overalll technique - don't under estimate the power of amazing arms and hands. And think of all the time you're going to save when you don't have to unlearn bad habits you've picked up along the way. Trying to correct your technique when you're a Level 4 dancer is alot harder then when you're at Level 2.

Getting the look of graceful, liquid arm and hand movements is much more than meets the eye. In fact we engage the upper torso, back muscles and more to make these movements look graceful and full of intention.  Moving with your upper torso gracefully is an art in itself and this class is designed to help you learn the essentials of polished arm/hand & torso technique. We'll work with correct posture, rib cage lift and extension of the arms from your core, wrist work and footwork combinations to practice layering of arm patterns, arm transitions and poses. Exercises will drill arm pathways and build muscle memory so you learn to move your arms/hands with intention and precision. Gain more confidence as a belly dancer, improve posture and poise and improve your overall grace and flow factor. If you're a performer or thinking of performing, this class is definitely one to attend regularly.
