Why translations are important for Dancers:

If you are dancing to Arabic music that has lyrics, it is a Bellydance imperative that you know the true meaning of the song, so that you can interpret the song in a meaningful and appropriate way both through dance movement as well as feeling and expression. The more you understand the music, the better you can dance to it and we believe the more you will enjoy dancing to it because you'll be connecting with the music on a much deeper level. While the Internet has many translations available, you may choose music where the translations are not online or we choose a song where we just want a more in-depth translation so we can understand how to enunciate the words and phrases phonetically. Our go-to for translation services is Marie Habib who offers a variety of packages depending on how in-depth you want to go with the lyrics.

First, decide the level of translation you are interested in:

(Pick one, mix and match or take all four!)
• Overall summarized meaning of song
• Phonetic Arabic (for singing along)
• Line by line (for understanding)
• Word by word (for vocabulary)

Second, email
Marie Habib with the song you'd like translated and specify the levels of translation from the list above.

Third, you will receive a quote* and estimate timeline of completion by email. The translation process begins only once you've confirmed the quote and estimated timeliness are acceptable, and payment is received by e-transfer to same email address above.

Translation fees:
 Minimum fee = $20 (3-5 minute song)
Average fee, all 4 tiers = $80 (3-5 minute song)
Average timeline, all 4 tiers, 3-5 minute song is 2-3 days
